University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a full-time Biomed Engineer, Assoc to support the UPMC 3D Printing Program located at 203 Lothrop St Suite 830
Pittsburgh, PA 15213. This role will work 40 hours a week (Pager call for urgent 3D printing cases) with travel to UPMC Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh 2-3 times a month.
This program is one of the busiest, most advanced point of care 3D printing programs in the country, creating hundreds of clinical models each year and have 3 ISO 7 clean rooms. Lots of room to innovate and develop novel applications and devices for use at the point of care
This role will be largely responsible for creating patient-specific 3D printed anatomic models and surgical tools. 3D Printing related engineering projects including novel medical devices (and other duties as listed)
**Responsibilities:**
+ Participating in the design, production, and delivery of patient-specific surgical guides
+ Designing, producing, and delivering patient-specific anatomic models
+ Operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining 3D printers and related equipment within UPMC
+ Maintaining clean and safe lab environments, documenting compliance, and assisting with ordering and stocking supplies
+ Drafting QMS documentation
+ Participating in ongoing 3D Printing Program research projects
+ Must have a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Biomedical or other related Engineering field
+ Prior experience with 3D printing
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate well, both orally and in written form
Preferred
+ Ability to work independently in software platforms used for post processing of medical imaging data such as Materialise Mimics Innovation Suite
+ Familiarity with human anatomy
+ Prior experience with Quality Management Systems
+ Prior experience participating in projects with cross-functional teams **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**
