Audio & Visual Tech

Duties:

Setting up and operating audio, DJ, lighting, and video equipment for the nightclub and events. Testing

all of the equipment before events. Maintenance and cleaning of equipment. Sometimes amplifiers

need to be cleaned, speakers need to be rewired or replaced, DJ gear needs to be cleaned and have

firmware updated. Will need to come in some off days to do these tasks.

Communication with the club staff for scheduling and client needs.

Skills required:

- Working knowledge of Serato DJ software, you'll need to troubleshoot any issues the DJ's might

have, you may even have to do some basic DJ'ing if a DJ arrives late.

- Extensive knowledge of live sound mixing and troubleshooting. We use the X-Air (Behrigner) app to

mix all of our consoles via iPad or laptop. Thorough knowledge of signal flow, gain staging, EQ,

Compression, ect. Ability to set up for live bands as well, sometimes they are booked for events.

- Ability to calculate wattage between amplifiers and passive speakers.

- Working knowledge of operating video. Most of the time you will just be looping videos on big

screens but sometimes there are more complex needs. Knowledge of ProPresenter, PowerPoint, or

Google Slides is a major plus.

-Basic knowledge of operating lights and DMX addressing. We use GrandMa, LightKey, and Vibrio

programs. Most of the time light settings will be on autopilot, but you'll need to be able to make

changes and troubleshoot at times.

- Ability to calculate wattage between amplifiers and passive speakers.

Equipment Used:

Audio - Behringer XR consoles. XR18 in the Main, XR16 in the Vault, X-Air in the Catwalk. They

are all iPad or laptop operated using the X-Air app.

Crown iTech 4x3500 amplifiers. Powerful amplifiers in the Catwalk, current tech will give you an

overview on how to use them properly.

Wireless Shure mics and receivers.

Various amplifiers and speakers.

DJ - Pioneer CDJ 2000 NXS2. Pioneer DJM-9

Lighting - Various lights. GrandMa, LightKey, and Vibrio programs.
