Job Description

Responsibilities: The executive chef will:

· Ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen.

· Train and manage kitchen personnel

· Supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities

· Estimate food consumption and requisition

· Purchase food

· Manage labor

· Select and develop recipes

· Standardize recipes to ensure consistent quality

· Establish presentation technique and quality standards

· Plan and price menus

· Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance

· Executive chef may oversee special catering events

· Offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrate culinary techniques

· Directly supervise kitchen personnel with responsibility for hiring, discipline, Performance reviews and initiating pay increases

· Be the “Face” of the culinary experience and story

Special qualifications: The ability to manage in a diverse environment with focus on client and customer services. Ecological awareness, education and experience is essential to success in this role.

Experience: Previous experience with controlling food and labor cost, demonstration cooking, menu development and pricing and development of culinary team. Premise and liability accountability is desirable.

Education: The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree or related culinary degree with six or more years of industry and culinary management experience.

Core competencies: Leadership, Management, Planning.

Experience: High school diploma/GED required (two-year culinary degree preferred), 7+ years’ experience in an executive kitchen position, demonstrated knowledge of current restaurant industry trends, must possess culinary creativity, strong knowledge of local, state and federal food sanitation regulations, comfortable providing direction and supervision to kitchen staff.Company Description
