Maintenance Supervisor

Responsibilities:
Lead and develop maintenance technicians through training and hands-on mentorship.
Serve as the on-shift floor leader, responsible for the overall operation and maintenance performance of the plant.
Make independent decisions to ensure plant operations continue efficiently and safely.
Utilize company-provided tools and systems (e.g., CMMS, hand tools, training resources) to complete all required tasks.
Delegate daily maintenance responsibilities to align with departmental goals and preventive maintenance (PM) compliance targets.
Supervise and assist with projects, equipment breakdowns, and line calls as needed.
Source and secure necessary parts to complete maintenance work effectively.
Review and ensure timely, accurate completion of work orders.
Validate CMMS work order data, monitor work order aging, and manage maintenance backlog.
Collaborate with the maintenance planner to schedule equipment overhauls, modifications, and special projects.
Provide necessary technical documentation such as prints, drawings, or manuals for job execution.
Work alongside the Reliability Manager to update and optimize PM schedules and procedures for improved equipment reliability.
Make data-based recommendations for replacement or upgrade of equipment and components.
Supervise and monitor team activities, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to maintenance standards.
Facilitate effective and timely communication with production and other departments during equipment failure recovery.
Deliver regular coaching, feedback, and performance guidance to team members.
Promote a strong culture of safety and teamwork.
Identify and recommend cost-saving and efficiency-enhancing opportunities.
Submit detailed shift reports and documentation as required.
Perform other related duties as assigned by maintenance management.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact effectively across multiple departments.
Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop maintenance personnel.
Solid understanding of preventive maintenance programs and CMMS usage.
Working knowledge of bakery or food manufacturing equipment operations.
Ability to make sound decisions independently in a fast-paced production environment.
Proven ability to promote and sustain a culture of safety and teamwork.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering-related field.
3+ years of experience in a maintenance leadership or supervisory role.
Experience with project management and coordinating cross-functional maintenance initiatives.
Background in food manufacturing or automated production environments.
