Data Analyst

Company Overview: Stouffer Legal is a growing Estate Planning firm based in Maryland, preparing for national expansion. Position Overview: We are looking for a diligent and methodical Data Analyst who enjoys organizing, analyzing, and interpreting business, financial, and marketing data. The ideal candidate has a structured approach and thrives on accuracy, order, and clarity. You will be responsible for developing detailed dashboards, operational reports, and clear visualizations that provide reliable insights for decision-making.

You will coordinate closely with business, finance, marketing teams, and our Business Process Analysts (BPA), working within an established developer framework for advanced technical components. Your role will involve meticulous attention to detail in building and maintaining data systems, reports, and analytical solutions.

Core Job Duties:

Team-Level Performance Tracking:

Assist teams in tracking key performance indicators, including creating or maintaining tracking systems, setting up alerts when KPIs fall out of range, monitoring performance trends, and recommending course corrections.

Support the development of team-specific dashboards and capacity planning tools.

Firm-Level Performance Tracking:

Maintain and evolve company dashboards and scorecards. Partner with function leads to define thresholds and set up alerts or visuals for at risk/off track statuses.

Ensure data is accurately reflected in business performance dashboards.

Develop visuals and reports to support Quarterly Rock and milestone reviews

Process Improvement:

Work with the BPA team to analyze team workload distribution and capacity by role and function. Identify inefficiencies or over-utilization points. Quantify gains from automation (e.g., time saved drafting automation, LS automation, etc.).

Help BPA define baselines and measure improvements for Continuous Improvement Projects.

Support cross-functional projects by answering data-driven questions and identifying opportunities for process improvements or cost savings.

Data Quality & Governance:

Maintain documentation of the firm’s data landscape and data plan, including all key metrics, definitions, and data sources.

Help design scalable data models to support business reporting as the company expands.

Help to develop and enforce data governance standards, such as naming conventions, data validation rules, and version control.

Conduct regular data quality audits to identify and address inconsistencies or gaps across systems.

Data grouping or segmentation

IT & Mentorship:

Mentor junior developers on simple analytical projects to facilitate learning and development.

Assist in selecting and configuring analytics tools or software solutions in collaboration with the IT and development teams.

Assist in integrating new data sources (e.g., third-party platforms or internal tools) into analytics workflows.

Work with developers to align on API use or ETL logic when new data is required.

Leadership Support:

Respond to leadership requests with precise, timely metrics and visual presentations.

Fulfill leadership team requests for metrics and visuals by pulling, transforming, and presenting data using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and Tableau.

Communicate insights through executive summaries, visual slides, and ad hoc reports that support faster and more informed decision-making.

Support strategic planning sessions and Quarterly Pulse reviews with customized visualizations.

Develop simple predictive models (e.g., lead conversion likelihood, revenue projections) to assist with business planning.

Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by contributing historical data analysis and scenario modeling.

Create internal documentation for all dashboards and reports to ensure reproducibility and clarity.

Contribute to the standardization of reporting practices across departments.

Marketing Analysis:

Analyze lead conversion rates, campaign effectiveness, and client retention patterns.

Provide data-driven recommendations for marketing targeting, messaging, and budget allocation.

Track the effectiveness of marketing campaigns

· Evaluate client drop-off or cancelation patterns to help improve retention

Preferred Qualifications:

2-4 years of proven experience in a structured data analyst role.

Expertise with Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Tableau, emphasizing structured visualizations.

Demonstrated proficiency in DAX, M, and R.

Exceptional attention to detail, precision, and data accuracy.

Methodical approach to tasks, excellent organizational skills, and clear documentation habits.

Ability to communicate detailed findings clearly and effectively.

Career Path:

Potential advancement includes Senior Data Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, or Data Scientist, based on skill development and interests.

Compensation & Benefits:

Competitive salary ($75,000 - $95,000)
