Job Summary:
Responsible for serving meals to the Assisted Living residents in a courteous manner and maintaining clean and sanitary work areas according to industry and company standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Set up the food (hot & cold) in the assisted living kitchens, ensuring the temperatures are up to standards.
Label and date food placed into the cooler and freezer.
Discard outdated foods.
Follow the FIFO (first in, first out) rotation procedures when pulling food for use.
Clean all equipment and workstations, and organize stock areas.
Call residents that receive home deliveries to obtain meal orders.
Assemble and deliver meals requiring home deliveries.
Load, push, and unload hand cart frequently per shift requiring frequent lifting and pushing up to 25 lbs.
Educational, Physical, and Other Requirements:
Must be able of maintaining regular attendance.
Must have ability to read and write in English and follow verbal and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
Must meet all local health regulations and pass post-offer, pre-employment physical exam.
Must follow department dress code and wear clean uniform, clean shoes, a hairnet or cap inside kitchen and disposable gloves when handling food.
Must wear name tag at all times when on John Knox Village property.
Must be free from all communicable diseases and in good general health.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift (up to 50 lbs.), bend, squat, reach, and move intermittently during working hours.
