Job Description
The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Branch Manager in overseeing daily operations of the bank branch, ensuring exceptional customer service, operational efficiency, and compliance with regulations. This role involves supervising staff, assisting with sales and service goals, and helping manage the overall performance of the branch.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in managing daily branch operations, including opening and closing procedures, transaction accuracy, and security protocols.
Support the Branch Manager in achieving sales and service goals by promoting banking products and services to customers.
Lead, coach, and motivate branch staff to ensure a high level of customer service and adherence to bank policies.
Resolve complex customer issues promptly and professionally.
Monitor and ensure compliance with banking regulations, internal controls, and audit requirements.
Participate in hiring, training, and performance evaluations of branch employees.
Maintain knowledge of all bank products, services, and procedures.
Assist with risk management, fraud prevention, and regulatory reporting.
Act as the acting branch manager in the absence of the Branch Manager.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in retail banking or financial services, including supervisory experience.
Strong understanding of banking products, services, and regulations.
Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Proven customer service and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in sales and relationship management.
Knowledge of local market and community banking needs.
Bilingual abilities (if relevant to the local customer base).
