**Job Description**

A production company in KCK is seeking a skilled TIG welder to join their team. The welder will operate both manual welders and welding robots to fabricate metal weldments using materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.

**Responsibilities**

+ Operate a welding machine to fabricate metal weldments from materials like aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel.

+ Lift workpieces manually or use a hoist and secure them in fixtures.

+ Start machines and observe operations to ensure proper functioning.

+ Inspect and measure workpieces to verify conformance to specifications.

+ Replace worn machine accessories and exhausted expendables such as shielding gases, welding rods, and wires.

+ Add coolant and/or water to the machine reservoir and turn the valve to start the flow of coolant.

+ Operate an industrial truck or electric hoist for loading or moving materials and products when required.

+ Operate welders to produce parts according to specifications, setting up and adjusting tips, fixtures, amperage, and pulse.

**Essential Skills**

+ Experience in TIG welding for over 1 year.

+ Ability to pass a weld test involving corner welding on thin metal and tube welding.

+ Proficiency in working with stainless steel, fabrication, and machine building.

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**

+ Experience in mechanical operations and machine building.

**Work Environment**

The work environment requires wearing steel-toed boots and safety glasses. The shift runs from 5:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. A structured attendance policy awards points based on punctuality and call-ins.

**Job Type & Location**

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, Kansas.

**Pay and Benefits**

The pay range for this position is $24.13 - $24.13/hr.
