TJob Summary:
The Plant Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading and managing all supply chain activities within the plant, including procurement, production planning, inventory control, logistics, and shipping/receiving. This role ensures that materials and products flow efficiently and cost-effectively from suppliers to production and through to customer delivery, supporting the plant’s operational and financial objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end supply chain function within the plant, aligning supply chain strategy with business goals.
Oversee material planning and production scheduling to ensure optimal inventory levels and on-time delivery.
Manage procurement activities for direct and indirect materials; ensure supplier performance and cost competitiveness.
Develop and implement inventory management strategies to minimize waste and reduce working capital.
Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams to support production continuity.
Drive continuous improvement in supply chain processes using LEAN principles and KPIs.
Supervise warehouse and logistics operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
Identify risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation plans for supply disruptions.
Maintain accurate reporting and metrics (e.g., OTIF, inventory turns, supplier OTD).
Lead and develop a high-performing supply chain team, fostering accountability and growth.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (MBA or APICS certification preferred).
5–10 years of supply chain or materials management experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).
Demonstrated success in inventory control, demand planning, and supplier management.
Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Experience with LEAN, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
