TITLE: Business Systems Analyst

REPORTS TO: Information Systems Manager

BASED AT: Harken, Inc., Pewaukee, WI

STATUS: Full Time, Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

Solves organizational information problems by analyzing business requirements and developing technology requirements, software procedures and standards to support stated business objectives; recommends system controls and protocols; conducts user training on business and software procedures. A major part of this position is to provide a proactive interface between internal customers and the technical staff to ensure effective definition and delivery of business applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats

Designs software by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications

Analyzes and documents Information Systems problems, recommends solutions, initiates corrective actions. Follows up on problem resolution and informs client departments of status

Supports organizational process re-engineering by involving client departments in process flow analysis and work design, with emphasis on effective utilization of Information Systems to improve/streamline organizational performance

Maintains system protocols by writing and updating procedures

Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications

Conduct gap analysis and propose solutions for new and existing business challenges

Configure and customize D365FO modules to optimize business processes

Converts strategic objectives into tactical operational plans, capable of managing fairly complex projects

Design and modify PowerBI reports and dashboards to meet user requirements

Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.

Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

BS in Information Technology or Information Systems preferred. High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required with a minimum of 2 years applicable career experience.

Solid operational Dynamics 365FO and Dynamics 365SCM.

Experience in at least 1 full lifecycle implementation of AX2012 or D365FO

Extensive knowledge of business issues and processes as well as IT resources and enabling technologies

Software process and workflow documentation skills

Requires excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation skills

Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple assignments

to meet deadline and goals despite unexpected setbacks, obstacles or time constraints

Team player able to interact in a positive, constructive manner with staff members on all levels

within the company

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite programs, i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Publisher

The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception and the ability to focus

Microsoft D365 certifications and EDI experience are a plus
