Overview of Role:
The Sr. Manager, Procurement & Vendor Management (Indirect Procurement) will play a key role in supporting the Commercial organization throughout the entire procurement process. This role is responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing suppliers in multiple spending categories within Indirect Procurement including but not limited to Commercial, Marketing, Outcomes Research, Market Access, Technology & Digital Data, Media, Consulting, IT, HR, and Supply Chain processes, focusing on obtaining the best quality services at optimal costs while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The successful incumbent will be responsible for strategic outsourcing, contracts negotiation, budget management, quality oversight, and driving innovation within the multiple spend categories of Indirect Procurement.
This role will report to the Head/Senior Director of Procurement and Vendor Management. Moving forward, this role could expand to take on other additional responsibilities in Procurement such as supporting sourcing activities for Drug Supply chain and other R&D-related areas.
Role and Responsibilities:
Implement category sourcing plans for multiple spend areas in Indirect Procurement with a focus on quality, value and cost savings
Execute global and local sourcing strategies across various areas, particularly in Commercial, Marketing, Technology & Data, Media, and IT
Understand marketing strategies including digital marketing, primary/secondary market research, telehealth, and CRM related platforms
Experience with Market Access and various levels of patient support programs and distribution channels
Actively identify potential vendors supporting Commercial organization with opportunities for speed to market, assessing supplier capabilities, quality systems, and compliance with relevant regulatory requirements
Manage the outsourcing/RFX process, vendor selection & qualification, and MSA review
Negotiate contracts, rate cards and pricing terms; manage suppliers seeking cost efficiencies
Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders in Marketing, Commercial, IT, and other groups as needed to review, amend, negotiate and complete the contracts
Build strong relationships with suppliers and develop a preferred vendor strategy/list
Facilitate vendor governance process by instituting quarterly business review meetings with key suppliers as appropriate, based on vendor segmentation
Monitor vendor performance by reviewing score cards, quality incidents, KPIs, SLAs, and risks/issues
Help maintain contract trackers for various projects and enter contract requests into the Summit legal portal
Assist and work with senior management on continuous improvement of procurement processes, and special projects

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Minimum BA/BS degree or relevant graduate degree preferred
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Procurement/Vendor Management environment in a pharmaceutical, Marketing/CRO/ Biotech company
Minimum of 2+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement supporting Commercial, Marketing, Outcomes Research, Data, Digital Health, Market Access, and Patient support services
Deep understanding of Commercial and Marketing activities in pharmaceutical industry
Demonstrated ability to multi-task, prioritize, and independently solve problems in a rapidly changing environment
Proficient user of standard MS Office suite (e.g., Word, Excel)
Strong computer and database skills and Excellent organizational skills
Attention to detail, accuracy and confidentiality
Clear and concise oral and written communication skills
Critical thinking, problem solving, ability to work independently
Must be able to effectively multi-task and manage time-sensitive and highly confidential documents
Communicate effectively and articulate complex ideas in an easily understandable way

The pay range for this role is $153,000-$180,000 annually. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor. The total compensation package for this position may also include bonus, stock, benefits and/or other applicable variable compensation.
