Job Summary
The Small Business Accounting Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing cash flow, and supporting various administrative functions. This is a critical role that combines bookkeeping, financial management, and office administration, ideal for a proactive individual who thrives in a small business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
Handle payroll processing and related tax filings
Monitor and manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
Coordinate with external CPA for tax preparation and year-end reporting
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
Assist in costing and inventory accounting as needed
Administrative Support
Oversee general office operations, vendor management, and purchasing support
Maintain accurate records for insurance, licensing, and compliance documentation
Support HR functions such as onboarding, employee records, and benefits administration
Develop and improve internal processes and filing systems
Liaise with company leadership to provide financial insights for decision-making
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of hands-on accounting/bookkeeping experience, preferably in a small business or manufacturing environment
Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks (or similar accounting software)
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office applications
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently
