We’re Hiring: Data Architects (Senior Level – 10+ Years)

SteerBridge Strategies, a Veteran-led small business, is looking for experienced Data Architects to join our growing team based at our headquarters in Tysons Corner (Vienna, VA). This is an exciting opportunity to shape enterprise-level data solutions that support large-scale transformation efforts in the federal space.

What You’ll Do:

As a Senior Data Architect, you’ll take the lead on designing and implementing scalable, secure, and high-performing data architectures that support business intelligence, compliance, and operational efficiency. You will:

Design enterprise data models (conceptual, logical, physical) to support analytics and reporting

Develop metadata management and data governance strategies

Architect cloud-native storage and integration frameworks (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery)

Align architecture with client requirements, regulatory standards, and cybersecurity protocols

Collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to ensure architecture enables performance, security, and scalability

Provide guidance on data lifecycle policies, retention strategies, and cost-effective infrastructure

Document architecture frameworks, integration touchpoints, and governance processes

Support data quality, compliance, and interoperability across complex ecosystems

Required Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a government security clearance

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field

10+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, or cloud data management

Proven experience with AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, and modern data warehousing solutions

Expertise in metadata strategy, data catalogs, and governance practices

Deep knowledge of relational and non-relational database technologies

Strong communication and collaboration skills in technical environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in healthcare, insurance, or federal claims environments

Familiarity with FHIR, HIPAA, CCPA, or similar regulatory standards

Proficiency with tools like ER/Studio, ERwin, or similar data modeling platforms

Experience supporting modernization or legacy system migration efforts

Location:

Must be local to the Washington, D.C. area and able to work on-site at our Vienna, VA office (5 days/week). Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.
