Job Opening: Engineering Technician
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support our engineering and geology teams. This role focuses on collecting, organizing, and managing technical data using software such as Power Tools, Total Rod, and Petra. The Engineering Technician will perform data QA/QC, assist with project tracking, and contribute to the development and management of both conventional waterflood and unconventional oil and gas properties. This position also supports exploration, development planning, production forecasting, and economic analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
Collect, organize, QA/QC, and enter data into software tools (e.g., Power Tools, Total Rod, Petra) to support engineering and geological project work.
Maintain and ensure the accuracy of production, injection, and allocation data in internal databases.
Access and integrate external data sources to support production and completion activities.
Organize technical data for use in economic evaluations and in-depth field studies.
Manage and input various technical datasets—scout reports, production and regulatory data, and analog field studies—into project software platforms for analysis.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience as an engineering technician in the oil and gas industry preferred.
Proficiency in interpreting production and injection plots (e.g., Rate vs Time, Hall Plot, Oil Cut vs Cumulative Oil).
Hands-on experience with tools such as Power Tools, Petra, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, IHS, Enverus, PHDWin, and visualization platforms like Spotfire.
High school diploma required; post-secondary coursework or a degree in mathematics or computer science is a plus.
Strong mathematical skills and computer proficiency are essential.
