About the Role
ChemDAQ is seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead efforts in recruiting, onboarding, and developing top talent while managing our benefits and payroll systems. In this pivotal role, you will help strengthen ChemDAQ’s presence in the Pittsburgh tech and economic development ecosystem. You’ll drive local recruiting initiatives, build awareness of ChemDAQ’s mission and culture, and enhance the employee experience through effective HR programs and streamlined administrative processes in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Recruiting
Own the full-cycle recruitment process, from sourcing and interviewing to hiring exceptional talent.
Craft and post compelling job descriptions across LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, and local platforms.
Increase ChemDAQ’s visibility by partnering with organizations like the Pittsburgh Technology Council, Catalyst Connection, universities, and economic development groups.
Represent ChemDAQ at career fairs, networking events, and tech meetups to connect with top regional talent.
Strengthen employer branding and culture messaging to attract candidates aligned with our mission.
Onboarding & Employee Growth
Lead a seamless onboarding experience that sets new hires up for success from day one.
Collaborate with managers to build role-specific training and development plans.
Maintain accurate employee records while ensuring compliance with all HR policies and procedures.
Oversee the implementation of an HR portal to centralize employee resources, streamline workflows, and improve access to key HR tools and documentation.
Employee Development & Engagement
Design and implement growth and learning programs to support career advancement.
Work with leadership to identify future skill needs and align training strategies.
Develop and track metrics to measure employee engagement and training effectiveness.
Benefits, Payroll & Compliance
Act as the primary contact for employee benefits, providing guidance and resolving issues.
Review and optimize ChemDAQ’s benefits offerings to ensure competitiveness and value for employees.
Manage benefits enrollment and educate employees on how to maximize their plans.
Oversee payroll system administration to ensure timely and accurate compensation.
Ensure all HR policies remain current and compliant with applicable labor laws and regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or HR certification such as SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR is a plus).
5+ years of progressive HR experience, including recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, and compliance.
Demonstrated experience implementing HR systems or portals to streamline processes and enhance the employee experience.
Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and payroll/benefits regulations.
Experience managing employee benefits programs, including vendor coordination and open enrollment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust across all levels of the organization.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism in handling confidential information.
