A well-established automation engineering company is seeking a Controls Systems Engineer to join their collaborative, fast-paced team. This role involves designing and developing complex control systems for automated assembly and test equipment across a variety of industries.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and specify control systems, including PLCs, IPCs, HMIs, motion control, vision systems, and robotics
Develop system architecture and electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical
Implement ISO-compliant safety systems and ensure compliance with UL508A, NFPA79, IEC, and NEC standards
Collaborate with project managers, mechanical engineers, and software developers
Support panel fabrication, system integration, FAT, and commissioning
Mentor junior engineers and technicians
Requirements:
5+ years of experience in industrial automation or controls engineering
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field
You will work heavily on the hardware side of controls, and although you need to understand PLC programming, you will not be writing code.
Hands-on experience with components from Rockwell, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and similar vendors
Strong understanding of motion control, networking, robotics, and vision systems
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and MS Office tools
Knowledge of safety system design and industry electrical standards
