Associate Controls Engineer - 633614
Location: Houston, TX (Hybrid)
We are seeking an Associate Controls Engineer to join our Houston, TX team. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to support a range of automation and control projects, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI programming, as well as instrumentation and commissioning tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Technical
Support development and delivery of process control systems (PLC/SCADA/HMI), including hardware design, network architecture, and instrumentation.
Collaborate with senior engineers on system design, development, and startup activities.
Create supporting documentation such as control narratives, test plans, cause & effect diagrams, and user manuals.
Test systems to ensure they meet project requirements and safety standards.
Continuously seek improvements in execution tools and techniques.
Project Management
Provide regular progress updates to project managers.
Identify risks or obstacles that may affect timelines or deliverables.
Participate in customer meetings and contribute to planning and coordination.
Evaluate customer requests in relation to project scope.
Sales & Business Development
Help identify potential follow-on work or service opportunities during project delivery.
Assist with preparing technical input for proposals and cost estimates.
Business Operations
Align personal goals with team and project objectives.
Collaborate and share knowledge with colleagues.
Maintain professionalism in communication and documentation.
Promote continuous improvement and accountability.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical/Controls, Chemical, Computer, or Mechanical preferred).
Strong communication skills and client-facing professionalism.
Exposure to control systems through coursework, internships, or senior design projects.
Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, C++, JavaScript, .NET).
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
Preferred (Not Required)
Knowledge of network design and virtual environments.
Experience with process control system design and/or commissioning.
