Security Engineer

GDT is hiring a Security Engineer I to support one of our valued enterprise clients in the DFW area. In this role, you’ll help secure IT infrastructure, protect sensitive data, and implement proactive cybersecurity solutions. We're looking for a driven, detail-oriented engineer with a strong grasp of threat analysis, network security, and modern security tools. You'll play a critical role in safeguarding infrastructure while working alongside a collaborative infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage security architecture including firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, endpoint protection, and related technologies.

Develop and enforce IT security protocols, policies, and best practices.

Monitor security systems, investigate incidents, and respond to threats in a timely manner.

Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analysis.

Ensure compliance with standards such as NIST, PCI, and internal security policies.

Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure secure systems design.

Lead or assist with security awareness training for staff.

Document procedures, policies, and incident reports accurately and clearly.

Contribute to strategic planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity efforts.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of professional experience in a cybersecurity or security engineering role.

Strong understanding of security tools, practices, and threat detection.

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred.

Experience with endpoint protection, firewalls, SIEM, and related security tools.

Industry experience in property management or real estate IT environments is a plus.
