Overview:
Assist in grant reports and program evaluation.
Engages in outreach efforts by preparing written communication, flyers, and newsletters, and manages media to disseminate program information/services.
Maintains a case load of students to provide academic and post-secondary guidance.
Travels to target high schools and feeder schools for academic advising and recruitment.
Work hours include early mornings, evenings, Saturdays, and weeklong trip during Summer.
Valid Ohio driver’s license and proof of auto insurance is required by hospital policy. Must pass a motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility, driving qualifications and training set forth by Nationwide Children’s Hospital and must maintain qualification of insurance guidelines.

Provides day-to-day programming and operational implementation of the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Upward Bound Math and Science (UBMS) program to support college and career readiness for local high school students.

Essential Functions:
Compiles and manages College Success Strategy plans for participants.
Tracks and records individual and small-group mentor-tutoring, counseling, and advising sessions.
Facilitates and manages day-to-day programming, including mentoring, advising, Saturday sessions, and Summer programming.
Supervises summer education specialists.
Motivates participants to accomplish goals set in NCH UBMS objectives.
Education Requirement:
Bachelor’s Degree in education, social work, or a related field, or equivalent experience, required.
Skills:
Working knowledge of the college admissions process and the FAFSA application process.
Experience:
Two years of experience developing and facilitating youth development or education content to disadvantaged high school students, required.
Experience motivating and developing disadvantaged high school students to reach their full potential, required.
Experience developing and facilitating individual and small-group counseling or advising sessions that focus on academic and personal performance of disadvantaged high school students, required.
