The Town of Brewster seeks an organized professional for the part-time position of Department Assistant for the Department of Public Works. This position performs office, data entry, administrative and public service work assisting with the operations of the office and serves as a point of contact for the public.
Duties include but are not limited to; performs general office work, maintaining physical and electronic files for the department, and assists the public by providing information on department projects, programs, and procedures. Processes accounts receivable and payable consistent with budget appropriations. Monitors electronic timecards for accuracy; verifies employee paid time off balances, and processes department attendance and payroll. The ideal candidate is a team player with strong administrative and communication skills and attention to detail. Sound Interesting? High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of one year of office experience, municipal experience a plus, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
This is a part-time, 19 hour a week, unbenefited position, covered under the Town’s Personnel Bylaw agreement with a starting pay range of $24.75 - $27.04 per hour, starting pay dependent on qualifications and experience.
