We are currently seeking a Middle School Assistant Principal to join our leadership team and help us continue building a culture of excellence and belonging especially during a phase where were not just building a school, but an institution our community can be proud of.

About the Role

You will serve as a culture-focused AP, directly supporting our middle school (grades 58) teachers, students, and families. While you'll have the instructional chops to coach or lead academic teams, your superpower is shaping systems that help kids and staff thrive. You will help drive consistent routines and clear expectations across lunch, recess, arrival, dismissal, transitions, and advisory ensuring students experience safety, consistency, and joy every day.

You'll also be a key presence for families, a thought partner to our Principal, and a steady coach and manager for teachers and culture staff.

Core Responsibilities

Culture & Climate Leadership

Own and implement daily culture systems (arrival, lunch, recess, transitions, incentives, restorative systems)

Manage and coach culture-focused staff, deans, or grade-level teams

Lead proactive efforts to reduce exclusionary discipline and promote student wellness

Help teachers and staff build consistent, joyful, and inclusive classrooms Staff Management & Coaching

Manage a team of 3+ staff members, including classroom teachers or culture roles

Lead content or grade-level teams and help drive toward academic and cultural goals

Co-lead professional development and invest staff in school-wide priorities

Analyze student data and teacher performance to inform support and action steps Family & Community Engagement

Build deep relationships with students and families

Partner with families proactively and respond thoughtfully to concerns

Represent CCCS in community events and cultivate trust with neighborhood stakeholders What Were Looking For

Must-Haves

Valid teaching certification

Experience managing adults or leading teams to outcomes

Deep expertise in school culture systems, with a middle school lens

Track record of strong classroom teaching and/or instructional coaching

Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through

Effective communication with students, staff, and families

Growth mindset, self-awareness, and responsiveness to feedback

Ability to follow leadership and model alignment with CCCSs mission Nice-to-Haves

Principal/Administrator certification (or in progress)

Experience with Relay, RTC, or similar coaching models

Familiarity with IAR or similar accountability systems

Technical fluency (data tracking, spreadsheets, scheduling tools)

SEL or trauma-informed training or experience

Background in schools serving low-income communities Who You'll Work With You'll report directly to the Principal and be part of a collaborative leadership team committed to high standards and high support. You'll work closely with our teachers, culture staff, students, and families, as well as with other school leaders across the 512 continuum.
