Description
Performs specialized and complex clerical work and technical support related to the purchase and delivery of material, equipment, services and supplies.
CURRENT VACANCY: One full-time position (12 mos/yr, 8 hrs/day), with full benefits, in the Procurement & Contract Services Department, at the Administration Center. Position includes full district-paid benefits. Health and welfare district contribution is $39,790 annually.

Processes and issues blanket purchase orders, and pre-authorized or confirming purchase orders as assigned.
Processes and issues purchase orders for memberships, conference registrations, lodging and travel as assigned.
Prints batch purchase orders and distributes accordingly.
Maintains the district vendor file and database. Processes vendor credit applications as requested.
Maintains department shared information folders, files, records and databases, including, but not limited to, certificates of insurance and vendor W-9's. Reconciles credit card statements.
Sorts and delivers incoming mail to department staff.
Performs a variety clerical duties and technical support as required of the purchasing department, such as preparing reports, duplicating, and maintaining filing systems as needed.
Assists with maintaining vendor online ordering systems.
Performs related duties, as assigned.
Employment Standards
Minimum Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency.
Three years of recent increasingly responsible and complex clerical and technical work.
Any other combination of education, training or experience that could likely provide the desired skills knowledge or abilities may be considered.
License or Certificate:
Possession of a valid State of California Class C driver's license and the use of personal transportation. Be insured at standard vehicle liability and property damage insurance rates, and maintain insurability.
Desirable Qualifications:
Certificates and/or completed coursework in purchasing, accounting, or a related field.
Written and oral proficiency in a second language.

Probationary period: 130 days of paid service.
Prior to employment, a candidate must submit proof of freedom from tuberculosis. Also required after an offer of employment are a pre-employment physical exam (district-paid) and fingerprint clearance with the Department of Justice.
