About the Role
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and highly analytical Estimator to join our Pre-Construction team. This role is ideal for a motivated individual with proven experience in commercial plumbing estimating, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple bids with accuracy and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Estimating & Bid Management
Determine which projects to bid in coordination with the Vice President of Pre-Construction.
Prepare accurate, detailed bid packages including labor, material, subcontractor, equipment, and overhead costs.
Analyze blueprints, project specifications, and scope to determine job costs and timelines.
Ensure all bids are submitted within deadlines and include the correct documentation (bonds, insurance, etc.).
Incorporate lead times and construction schedules into estimates.
Monitor actual project costs against original estimates for accuracy and ongoing improvement.
Build in appropriate profit margins to ensure job profitability.
Maintain accurate bid logs, job histories, and estimate documentation.
Client & Vendor Relations
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and manufacturers to ensure competitive pricing.
Represent the company in a professional manner during pre-bid walkthroughs and client interactions.
Provide insightful recommendations to the executive team to improve project success rates and profitability.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in estimating commercial plumbing projects.
Skills & Competencies
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, drawings, and construction documentation.
Strong mathematical skills for pricing, calculations, and budgeting.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and estimating software platforms.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and job site requirements.
Professional demeanor with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
