Job Description: Pond Cove is a large elementary school with 500+ students in grades K-4 and 100 staff. We are a high performing, National Blue Ribbon school with expectations of excellence and rigor in all areas of an educator's professional practice. We are seeking an experienced RTI Math Intervention Teacher to support students in grades K-4.

The RTI Math Intervention teacher helps facilitate responsive, flexible, and individualized instructional plans in mathematics for Tier 2 and 3 students in grades K-4, based on student needs and data. In addition, this individual helps oversee the data collection and organization process, supports RTI educational technicians, maintains and responds to data, schedules interventions, oversees a student caseload, and participates in weekly team meetings. The role also includes ongoing collaboration with classroom teachers to provide insights and strategies supporting Tier 1 instruction.

The successful candidate will join a team of five RTI teachers (two math, three reading). This role includes planning, designing, and delivering engaging and hands-on lessons and implementing assessments to measure student growth and progress.

Certification Requirements:

Maine Elementary Teaching Endorsement (020)

Professional Qualifications:

Master's degree in education preferred

Accepts shared responsibility for supporting all children, including supervising arrival, recess, lunch, and dismissal

Ability to collect and analyze data and use it to inform and deliver differentiated instruction

Preferred experience/training in the following:

NWEA assessments

Responsive Classroom

Response to Intervention (RTI)

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Effective Mathematics Teaching Practices

Do The Math curriculum

Build a community of learners who respect and care for each other

Provide students with engaging, hands-on, and high-interest lessons/learning opportunities

Meet student needs, including social-emotional, academic, and behavior

Share ownership of students for all aspects of learning and fulfill supervision duties (e.g., recess, lunch, etc.)

Be able to pivot quickly when changes happen (e.g., schedule changes, support and attend school assemblies and events, fulfill coverage needs, etc.)
