Purpose Statement: To support a productive and accessible learning environment that breaks down barriers to enable deeper learning for all students and staff.
Essential Job Functions
Coordinate with administrators and instructional leaders to best meet BCSC’s educational needs
Supervise various department functions, including hiring/firing recommendations, planning, scheduling, and coordinating activities, and training personnel for the purpose of ensuring that department functions in an efficient manner
Supervise personnel responsible for the technical support of BCSC students and staff
Review employee performance and activities, and recommend actions necessary to ensure high levels of performance
Coordinate and conduct meetings related to various teams and/or projects. This includes ensuring the right participants are in attendance to solve the problem at hand or reach the required decisions, often encompassing an enterprise viewpoint.
Develop goals, approaches, and measures in support of division and district goals
Serve as the building-level technical expert/lead at installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining AV, telecom, and computer equipment and instructional and administrative software in a multi-building environment
Repairs computing hardware, including removal, repair, and replacement of assemblies, subassemblies, and electronic components. Assess problems/malfunctions (e.g., completing repairs, ordering and installing replacement parts, ordering warranty service) for the purpose of ensuring the availability of functional equipment
Manage service tickets for the technical support team
Escalate issues as needed
Technical lead for school online assessment, including device readiness and building coordination
Execute system administration functions to maintain data security and integrity of information and telecommunications systems, including, but not limited to, setting up user accounts, passwords, and access codes.
Maintain an accurate inventory of technology assets. Maintaining inventory information for the building.

Basic knowledge of computer hardware and electronic operation. Ability to repair notebook and desktop systems - disassemble, assemble, and test notebook and desktop systems.
Performing multiple technical tasks and scheduling a number of sequential and concurrent activities.
Flexibility in working and communicating with a variety of individuals and/or groups with varied cultural and educational levels.
Strong writing and verbal communication abilities and strong interpersonal and professional skills are required.
Ability to work and manage a diverse group of individuals.
Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.
Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with students, staff, and others contacted in the course of work.
Ability to report work orally or in writing to the supervisor as required.
Effective writing and verbal communication skills. Translate technical terminology for the end user Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Works in standard office and school building environments (not standard office...esp on non-school days when chemicals are used -> wax strippers, etc, or climate settings have been lowered or raised)
Occasionally works in confined areas (wiring closets) or other service areas of the school building
moderate (20- 25lbs) lifting (including overhead), carrying, pushing, and /or pulling; some climbing and balancing; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. Generally, the job requires 30% sitting, 35% walking, and 35% standing
Occasional work on a ladder or lift to repair, remove, or install equipment Qualification
2-year associate's degree or 4-year college degree preferred. 4 years of work experience in a technical field is also considered.
