We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to support the design, integration, and commissioning of electrical systems for new ship construction projects. This position plays a key role in developing shipboard electrical systems that meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards from concept through delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of marine electrical systems, experience working in shipbuilding or a similar heavy industry, and the ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.Requirements:

Design and specify shipboard electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, communications, automation, navigation, and propulsion support systems.

Develop and review technical drawings, wiring diagrams, cable schedules, load analyses, and one-line diagrams.

Ensure all designs comply with applicable codes and regulations (e.g., ABS, DNV, USCG, IEEE, NEC).

Coordinate with naval architects, mechanical engineers, and production teams during all phases of construction.

Support procurement by specifying electrical equipment and reviewing vendor documentation.

Oversee system installation, troubleshoot issues during construction, and support testing and commissioning activities.

Prepare and maintain technical documentation, change orders, and engineering reports.

Interface with clients, classification societies, and regulatory inspectors during inspections and certifications.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.

5+ years of relevant experience in marine, industrial, or shipyard environments preferred.

Proficiency with AutoCAD, or similar CAD tools.

Strong understanding of electrical systems design, power distribution, and control systems.

Familiarity with shipbuilding processes and standards.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft office tools including Excel, Word and Outlook.
