Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of our manufacturing facility in Youngstown, Ohio. This role involves managing the accounting team, ensuring compliance with financial standards, and providing strategic financial insights to support business objectives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment and possess a strong background in manufacturing accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements and reports.
• Analyze financial data to develop actionable strategies for resource optimization and operational improvements.
• Manage the chart of accounts to ensure accurate recording of transactions in the Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements.
• Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and cash application processes, with a focus on aged invoices and credit monitoring.
• Evaluate manufacturing costs, overhead expenses, and general administrative costs to recommend effective cost management solutions.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax reporting and filing requirements.
• Oversee physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain accurate inventory records.
• Safeguard confidential information related to both the company and its clients.
• Provide detailed analysis of revenues and expenses to support financial decision-making.
• Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.• Bachelor's degree in accounting, business administration, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial or accounting role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting practices and principles.
• Proficiency in Office 365 applications, including Excel and Teams.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Epicor or Sage is highly desirable.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and resolve issues.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities.
