Your new role

Reporting to the Senior Property Manager, in this role, you will be responsible for the regular and preventative maintenance of a commercial & industrial portfolio. The ideal candidate is a 4th class Power Engineer with prior building maintenance experience on a commercial or industrial facility and enjoys being tenant-facing. The successful candidate will ensure that this portfolio is maintained safely and in an efficient manner. Other responsibilities will include:

Perform preventative and unscheduled maintenance on all building systems

Ensure efficient operation of equipment by reviewing system trend logs

Manage waste, recycling, and hazardous materials (WHMIS)

Supervise Computerized Building Automation Systems

Oversee tenant service request responses and resolution

Conduct risk management inspections and remedial actions

Assist Property Manager with annual operations and capital budgeting

Review invoices and expenditures to ensure alignment with budget

Troubleshoot operational issues, including automation systems

Maintain knowledge of equipment overrides and automation interlocks

Stay updated on industry practices, legislative changes, and new technologies

Assist with capital projects and tenant improvements

What you'll need to succeed

4th Class Power Engineering Certificate

Valid BC Driver's License

Openness to being on call

Prior experience working as a Building Operator / Building Engineer on a commercial or industrial property.

What you'll get in return
