McKay Metis Contracting, an entity of McKay Metis Group, is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor.
Reporting to the HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor is responsible for providing support to operations, and guiding staff with respect to the company and client safety practices, policies, procedures, and legislation obligations.
Accountabilities:
Investigate incidents, near misses, and hazardous conditions
Assist with audit process and requirements
Work with management and staff on identifying hazards
Encourage and promote safe work culture
Knowledge and implementation of required reporting procedures relating to OH&S Legislation and WCB Regulations as well as clients’ procedures
Aid with internal HSE training and mentorship
Process, co-ordinate and maintain employee HSE records
Participate in toolbox meetings, safety meetings, client HSE meetings, emergency response planning, and field inspections
Prepare and present HSE meeting topics
Assist with the development of Job Hazard Assessment
Maintain and report all site HSE documentation as required
Maintain consistent & professional decisiveness, attendance, and punctuality
Provide HSE on call support as required
All other duties as required
Requirements and Competencies:
NCSO required
In depth knowledge of the oilfield industry an asset
CRSP designation considered an asset
Post secondary education in related field an asset
Tickets required: CSO, or CSTS and OSSA
Standard First Aid, H2S Alive, and WHMIS an asset
Valid class 5 license with clean Drivers Abstract
Minimum of 5 years experience in a construction and mining environment
Excellent communication and organizational skills, proficient computer skills
Self-motivated, results orientated
Strong interpersonal skills
Adaptable, and energetic
Strong writing capabilities
Effective presentation skills
Experience with Microsoft Office required
Schedule:
· 7 days on, 7 days off, 12 hours per day.
