Pharmacy Outcomes and Translational Sciences
A researcher position is available in the lab of Dr. Shuiying Hu within the Experimental Cancer Pharmacology Laboratory at The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy (Columbus, Ohio). Involvement with ongoing projects related to the identification of solute carriers/transporters for small molecule drugs. This position requires knowledge of the use of molecular biology, and biochemistry for the functionally characterization of transporters using an array of in vitro and in vivo models. Research activities are consistent with standard in vitro and in vivo techniques utilized in pharmaceutical sciences (e.g., PK/PD studies, uptake assays), oncology (e.g., cell viability assays, cytotoxicity assays, immunoblotting), and neuroscience (e.g., behavioral studies, IF/confocal microscopy). The applicant will work independently and collaboratively with team members to achieve research goals. The successful applicant will perform or help with research-related activities, including the planning and execution of experiments, and will help facilitate regular laboratory operations. Required activities will include performing experiments and managing colonies of mice including basic husbandry and genotyping. Supportive activities will include helping, procuring and managing of laboratory inventory, SOPs; handling regulatory compliance (e.g., EHS and IACUC); contributing to publications, grant proposals, and progress report; coordinating and managing relevant laboratory schedules and access.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. 1-3 years of relevant experience required. Prior laboratory experience in biomedical research.
Desired Qualifications: Master's Degree preferred. 3-5 years of relevant experience preferred. Ability to independently conduct experiments, including the management of multiple concurrent projects. Experience managing laboratory operations. Strong communication and organizational skills. Experience with standard molecular biology techniques (cell culture and cell-based assays) and animal handling (colony and behavioral assays).
Additional Information:
The pay range for this job profile is $43,900 - $57,750. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
