Job Title: Production Associate
Objective:
The Production Associate’s primary role is to perform all tasks needed in the production of custom packaging products, including machine operating and assembly.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Produce custom packaging products safely, quickly, and accurately per company standards.
2. Operate a variety of equipment and machines including but not limited to: large die cutters, a variety of saws, roller presses (laminators), box makers, gluers, powered/unpowered hand tools, lathes, specialized cutting/punching/heat bonding equipment, bailers, compactors, etc.
3. Hand assembly of parts and products
4. Read production paperwork and follow work instructions and guidelines.
5. Identify and resolve general problems concerning equipment and materials.
6. Perform inventory counts and put away materials.
7. Creatively use provided tools and materials to help design templates or jigs to assist in increasing production efficiency
8. Understanding and interpreting BOMs (Bill of Materials) for production orders, and adhering to product specification documents to complete jobs
9. Use material handling machinery (Sit-down, Stand-up, Walk-Behind forklifts, pallet jacks) to move raw materials and finished goods around a production environment
10. May assist the warehouse with shipping, receiving, picking, put-away and/or inventory as needed.
11. Maintain a clean and safe work area, perform general maintenance and cleaning of equipment.
12. Continually look for ways to improve processes and systems to make them more efficient and effective.
13. Comply with quality and safety standards.
14. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
15. Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. High School diploma or GED preferred.
2. Experience operating heavy machinery safely in a manufacturing or shop environment preferred
3. General knowledge of or experience with wood shops or similar environments is a plus
4. Forklift experience or familiarity with powered machinery preferred. A comfortability and willingness to be trained on such equipment at a minimum. Ability to safely maintain a forklift certification.
5. A basic to intermediate level of computer skills including Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams) and an ability to navigate ERP systems after training
6. Ability to perform measurements using rulers and tape measures and perform basic arithmetic.
7. Good written and verbal communication
8. Strong attention to detail, specifically as it relates to reading diagrams and product specification documents
9. Previous machine operating and/or manufacturing experience preferred.
10. Ability to regularly lift 20 lbs and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment
Indoor general manufacturing/warehouse environment (heated only) with temperature fluctuation due to dock doors opening and closing. On your feet approximately 8 hours per day.
