The Role
Under the general direction of the Program Director or Designee, the Receptionist is responsible for managing the front desk area on a daily basis and perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks. This work is conducted in support of the mission and goals of Samaritan Daytop Village.
Responsibilities
What You Will Do
Maintains main reception area of a facility in a manner that immediately conveys agency’s professionalism.
Operates primary switchboard, which may be computerized and routes incoming calls to appropriate parties.
Takes telephone messages and forwards to appropriate parties.
Greets visitors to program site and refers them to appropriate parties.
Maintains a warm, but professional demeanor in all interactions with community, clients served and staff.
Signs for all incoming packages and pick-up services for outgoing packages.
Enforces and complies with security measures that may be implemented to protect the integrity of program environment (sign-in/sign-out sheets, visitor badges, incident reports, fire drills, security alarm procedures and trains security personnel on same.
Observes all pertinent laws governing client and/or staff confidentiality.
Handles typing assignments, filing, and reports as needed.
Sorts and distributes mail
Qualifications
Who You Will Be
High School Diploma or GED.
At least Two (2) years of experience as a Switchboard Operator or Receptionist.
Must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of the program’s participants.
Good interpersonal skills to interact with staff, clients and visitors.
Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple phone lines, greet and direct participants and vistors.
Experience collaborating directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Computer literacy including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
Team player and ability to work independently
