Job Goal: Articulating a clear instructional vision alongside the principal with a school-wide focus on teaching and learning that is data-driven, standards-aligned and rooted in a belief that all students can achieve at high levels.

Reports to: School Principal

Responsibilities: Assist the school principal in overall administration of instructional program and campus level operations. Coordinate assigned student activities and services.

Essential Job Functions:

Promote highly effective instruction through effective communication within the district's comprehensive system for professional growth and evaluation.

Provide oversight of school wide student management systems and provide responsive interventions to address individual student behavior incidents.

Develop a school class schedule that provides the greatest opportunities for students and effectively utilizes the talents of staff.

Understand and communicate Arkansas Curriculum Framework of academic standards and implement standards based curriculum featuring proficiency based assessment.

Assist teachers in developing and maintaining appropriate and effective teaching methods.

Analyze and understand data and effectively use it to form actions within school.

Collaborate with administrative leadership team district-wide, initiate a strong sense of team and serve on committees as appropriate.

Develop and foster community connections that will enhance the educational experience of all students.

Plan and implement appropriate professional development as it relates to the district's school improvement plan (SIP).

Effectively manage conflict within the school building.

Schedule and organize student activities and state testing.

Evaluate classified and licensed employees according to best practices and district policy and procedure.

Report issues to authorities as necessary, child abuse, suspicious activity etc.

Clearly communicate the district's vision and mission to your school community and maintain a positive school climate while maintaining staff accountability.

Participate in school, district, region, and state meetings as appropriate.

Facilitate and lead the implementation of the school improvement plan.

Identify students that have special needs and understand student referral systems. (Student Support Teams, PEP's)

Advocate for children and actively embrace community involvement.

Appreciate and respect diversity and difference in both teaching and learning.

Inspire innovation among the school community.

Maintain appropriate certifications and training hours as required.

Demonstrate a commitment to your personal growth and learning.

Effectively balance between great flexibility and great organization.

Comply with applicable district, state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations.

Attend work regularly.

Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Demonstrate ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information in school environment and community.

Maintain a cooperative working relationship with principal, supervising teacher, students, parents, staff and public.

Apply
