Job Title: Manager - Programs/Projects Reports to: Manager - Interconnection Services Work location: Kirkwood, NY or any NYSEG/RGE Location Work type: In Office The salary range for this position is dependent on location and experience level ranging from $85,900 to $107,375 Summary: The Project Manager - Interconnections is responsible for managing projects interconnecting to our system 5 megawatts and below in compliance with the New York Standardized Interconnection Requirements (SIR). This includes oversight of the interconnection process including resource allocation, risk management, and quality control.
The project manager will be the interface between the utility and the developer and will coordinate the tasks between internal departments to maintain project plans, track progress, and communicate updates to key stakeholders.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail will be critical in resolving any issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
Major Roles and Responsibilities: Developing Project Plans: This includes creating timelines, budgets, compiling complex technical reports, and resource allocation for the project.
Coordinating with Stakeholders: Collaborate closely with multiple stakeholders including but not limited to: internal and external engineering departments, field design and construction, testing & commissioning groups, operations, external project developers, representatives from NYSPSC staff.
Ensuring Compliance: Perform all job functions in strict compliance with the New York State Standardized Interconnection Requirements (NYS SIR). Assist internal and external parties with SIR interpretation, participate in working groups to develop revisions and updates to the NYS SIR.
Maintaining Documentation: Ensure project documentation and external communications are properly recorded and saved for future reference, traceability, and NYS SIR compliance.
Complete all internal and regulatory reporting on time and accurately Dispute Resolution: Manage and resolve any issues that arise internally and externally during the project lifecycle . Process Improvement: Continuously improve and streamline existing processes across several business areas to accommodate changing requirements and standards.
Job Requirements: Education & Experience Required: * Bachelor's degree required.
* Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
* Experience leading implementation of complex initiatives/projects.
* Demonstrated understanding of utility operations, stakeholders, the NYS SIR, and customer interaction etiquette.
* Proven track record of achieving results in high pressure and high-profile assignments.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills/Abilities: * Strong interpersonal communication and facilitation skills, detail-oriented, thorough and results-focused.
* Self-starter able to work well in new and undefined environments.
* Strong skills in following up and following through with action items and dependencies.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including formal presentation skills.
* Possess the ability to work across organizational lines within the company and influence key internal executives and line managers.
* Must be able to support and drive implementation of the agreed-upon strategies.
* Flexible and willing to step up to take on tasks beyond a job description as required.
* Drive a practice of continuous improvement - using data to drive constant improvement efficiency.
