A science teacher will be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive science curriculum to age appropriate level students in 6th through 8th grades.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Demonstrate accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content and Illinois State Standards
Prepare lesson plans and conduct daily classroom instruction to appropriate instructional level
Maintain a healthy learning environment for the students in the classroom
Organize the classroom and learning resources to create a positive learning environment
Observe and evaluate students to determine student progress or to make suggestions for improvement
Provide feedback to parents on a student's progress at conferences and other meeting

QUALIFICATIONS:

Recommendations and/or references
Ability to work as a team member and previous experience with middle school age children is preferred
Applicants must hold, or be eligible for, a valid Illinois Teaching Certificate (Type 03 or 09 with middle school science endorsement)
Past experience teaching the specific class will be considered first. If no previous teaching experience in the specific class, recent coursework or student teaching in the subject will be considered.
Ability to speak a foreign language is preferred Evaluation: As per the current collective bargaining agreement
