Akkodis is recruiting for a Lead Hardware Engineer for an aerospace manufacturer in either Grand Rapids, MI or Clearwater, FL. This is a direct hire position with a pay range of $150K annually to $170K annually depending on education, experience or location.
The Advanced Lead Engineer - Electronic Hardware plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of avionics hardware architectures by leveraging cutting-edge technology trends and state-of-the-art processor, System On Chip (SoC), and FPGA components. This position is integral to influencing hardware designs and supporting new bids and proposals. The role offers a blend of onsite and hybrid work arrangements, requiring 2-3 days in the office each week. An extensive corporate relocation package is available for eligible candidates.
Responsibilities:
Architect avionic hardware systems with digital and analog components.
Maintain expertise in semiconductor processors, System-on-Chip, and FPGA architectures.
Conduct and mentor board-level circuit design, integration, verification, and documentation.
Participate in hardware design trade studies, reviews, and proposals.
Make decisions and solve tasks in hardware design and manufacturing.
Lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
Develop persuasion skills to influence others within the field.
Contribute to product design and development, including technical improvements.
Plan and execute departmental operations with some autonomy under established policies.
Modify procedures and practices to meet quality, volume, and timeliness standards. Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university/college in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 6+ years of professional experiences in design.
This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status prior to employment. Desired Characteristics:
Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of digital design experience.
Proven history of architecting complex digital hardware.
Experience with Gigahertz microprocessors, FPGA, CPLD, DDR4 memory, flash memory, and high-density interconnect technologies.
Knowledge of 5+ Gbps serial links, CAN, MIL-STD-1553, ARINC standards, OpenVPX, and PIC-SIG standards.
Experience in Mil/Aero/avionics, DO-254, and Civil FAA Certification.
Strong technical writing and communication skills.
