Your Role:
Mental Health Technician/Skills Trainer Supervisor
Builds rapport with clients (children and adolescents), providing daily support, structure, activities, group, and safety.
Provide skills training to clients to help them learn to manage their mental health symptoms.
Models, coaches, and counsel's clients regarding appropriate hygiene, and social and interpersonal interactions.
Provides supervision and training to assigned Day Treatment Skills Trainers with a focus on developing mastery of their essential duties, responsibilities, and competencies as well as ongoing professional development. Will provide individual and group supervision to all direct reports and maintain documentation of such as per regulatory requirements.
Engages in positive and appropriate relationship-building with clients, their resources, and coworkers.
Understands and participates in the treatment process (from assessment to discharge), including interdisciplinary communication, family engagement documentation, and relationship building.
Demonstrates adherence to risk management procedures, protocols, policies, and interventions related to high-risk client behavior. Ensures subordinates can demonstrate understanding of risk management by verifying completion of required training, maintaining training compliance, and demonstrated observations which validate competencies in these areas.
Facilitates and leads Crisis Management and Intervention. This includes modeling the Nonviolent Crisis Intervention principals of Care, Welfare, Safety, and Security while providing verbal and physical intervention as instructed in the course.
Demonstrates the ability to facilitate and supervise the overall the classroom structure on a daily basis.
Conducts oneself in a professional and respectful manner with clients, their resources and coworkers; as evidenced by actions, language, and attire.
About You:
TOP 3 MUST HAVES:
Two (2 years) full years experiences as a direct care worker with at-risk children and/or adolescents is preferred.
Supervisory experience
Team Oriented attitude
Interpersonal and Communication Skills conducive to an effective leader: including ability to provide positive customer service to community teams and families, work collaboratively with other programs on campus, and demonstrates ability to use creativity and problem-solving skills.
Understand, lead, and participate in treatment process including interdisciplinary communication, engagement, documentation, and coordination of care responsibilities. Ability to administer medications to clients when needed, per policy.
PREFERENCE (but not a must)
Bachelor’s degree in behavioral sciences or equivalent education/experience.
