SUMMARY
Lead in daily Front of House operations to deliver a 5-Star, 5-Diamond, 3-Michelin Star experience to all guests. Maintain all aspects of the service areas, dining room, and property. Serve as the ambassador of the establishment and play a leadership role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Able to flawlessly execute the mechanics and standards of service
Is conscious of time-management and order-of-operation skills
Able to confidently speak in depth about property and conduct a kitchen tour
Mastery of etiquette
Can accurately assess a guest’s mood level and take actions accordingly
Exhibits anticipatory service
Comprehensive understanding of MOD and resort-suite functions; create and manage a folio, make dinner reservations, book rooms, menu’s, billing, etc.
Well versed in protocol for potential inspectors
Can effectively delegate to both front of house and back of house teams
Able to serve cheese from the cheese cart and speak confidently about selections
Expert ability to supervise breakfast service
Full understanding of all billing requirements; splitting checks, tock deposits, packages, discounts, and transferring checks
Able to execute tableside presentations; squab carving, Caesar, mini B, pour-over coffee, wine presentation, etc.
Will regularly update guest profile in Tock to build the database
Writes correct and accurate tickets for all tables with all necessary information
Has full daily knowledge of the CIP report
Is directly responsible for the section before and during service
Able to recognize long time guests and friends of The Inn
Takes on additional responsibilities outside of service and improves upon them; floor plan, schedule, CGS, linens, candles, paycom, etc.
Full knowledge of all beverages available
Able to sell bottles of wine accurately and to the guests liking/specification
Full knowledge of the property including details such as; who did this painting, where is this cabinet from, etc., as well as ongoing projects, current publications, recent reviews, etc.
Assists management in staff performance reviews and promotes team members’ growth
Master of all FOH position; can do anything, at any time, for any reason
Able to orchestrate a private event
Responsible for the fulfillment of training information for new staff
Exemplifies leadership, professionalism, positive attitude, and accountability
Utilizes channels of communication between all departments
Embodies the ‘Crisis Solver’ in giving direction and resolving issues
Plays a role in recruiting
Executes precisely in accordance with all Forbes 5-Star standards
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
Exceptional communication skills
2 years’ prior fine dining experience
Must be at least 21 years of age
Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos
Must have reliable transportation
Advanced wine knowledge
Must be able to work weekends/holidays and have a flexible work schedule
Mastery of Forbes 5-Star standards
Desirable
CMS 1 & 2 highly recommended
Ability to communicate in a language other than English, preferably Spanish or French
Certification in alcohol awareness program
Certification in CPR
Prior experience with Resortsuite and Tock
Bartending experience
SKILLS
Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing
Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written
Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation
Ability to speak using clear and professional language
Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
Ability to assist guests with questions about the property, history, and surrounding areas
Ability to hold staff accountable through coaching and counseling
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to lift 30+ lbs.
Able to stand, bend and walk for long periods of time
