ITEZZ is seeking a End User Technical Lead/Senior System Engineer to join our End User Services team. This role focuses on managing and improving our desktop system environment, particularly end-user devices. You will work with management to assess hardware specifications and system requirements, and develop practical solutions for hardware components like workstations, laptops, monitors, printers, and user interface devices. Your responsibilities will include preparing functional requirements for hardware purchases, creating and managing test plans, and addressing operational hardware issues to ensure our solutions meet user needs. Additionally, you will develop installation guides, field test procedures, and troubleshooting guides. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, have strong problem-solving skills, and demonstrate good communication and collaboration abilities.
This is in support of RIS I, which is the delivery of regional IT services to the end user. We offer support of end user devices including desktops, workplace peripherals, and voice and video devices. We support local and campus area networks, including wireless and cable plant.
Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide senior level Information Technology (IT) hardware engineering analysis and support, focusing on the desktop computing architecture for user devices, system configuration, testing, and integration. Key responsibilities include:
Includes both preventative and maintenance, deploying and installing hardware, and analyzing ticketing trends to propose solutions.
Involves working with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Value-Added Resellers (VARs), preparing hardware specifications based on system requirements, and mentoring junior engineers.
Preparing engineering plans, technical design packages, functional and performance test plans, site installation, and test reports based on document requirements.
Developing standardized configurations and field troubleshooting methods for end user computing devices and peripheral equipment.
Assisting in the preparation of status reports, organizing desktop engineering efforts, providing leadership to junior engineers and systems administrators, and occasionally acting as the End User Services Manager.
Developing technology insertion plans to introduce new technologies and coordinating service improvement activities across people, processes, and technologies.
This role requires a proactive approach to hardware maintenance, a strategic mindset for planning and implementation, and a leadership role in mentoring and guiding junior team members.
Required Qualifications:
Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph.
A minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an IT engineer, specializing in the analysis of hardware systems for IT solutions.
A Bachelor’s degree in Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field from an accredited institution is required. However, relevant experience may be substituted for the degree. Specifically, five (5) additional years of hardware engineering and testing experience can replace the need for a Bachelor’s degree.
Desired Qualifications - Demonstrated Experience in the following areas:
User Endpoint support and troubleshooting.
Requirements analysis and Solution Design.
Test plan development and execution.
Create and maintain documentation for both end users and system administrators.
Our End User Technical Lead (Government) earns between $98,100 - $190,000 yearly. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at ITEZZ offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
