Position Summary
The Cyber Security co-op will be responsible for delivering security into City Brewing’s business technologies and ensuring that our applications, services, and infrastructure are designed and implemented with security in mind. You will also contribute to assessing and performing a disposition on technical security reviews- this includes technical architecture reviews, ensuring security controls are implemented and working with project teams and stakeholders to resolve or remediate any outstanding security concerns Projects will be all tied to City Brewery’s Digital Transformation to enable our customers and users’ easy use of technology for their roles. Cyber security Co-Op will work with a mentor to ensure success.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Evaluate and implement new security tools and technologies
Integrate security into next generation cloud applications and architectures
Build secure networks and services
Assist in the testing and evaluation of information security controls
Participate in “Threat Hunts” to identify possible threats not otherwise detected
Analyze suspicious files and emails to determine if benign or malicious and act accordingly
Be part blue team incident response for malicious alerts
Enabling cyber training and conduction phishing tests
Open to coaching and mentoring
Ability to work independently and sometimes in a fast-paced environment
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current student enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Computer Science or Engineering
Strong technical, analytical, communication, and organizational skills
At least one course in, or equivalent knowledge of Java programming language
Ability to document work and work within a change control infrastructure
Exposure to the following:
Microsoft Tech Stack
TCP/IP
Microsoft Power BI/SSRS
Exposure to fronted web technologies (e.g. JAVA and CSS 2/3-specific frameworks not as important as concepts)
