O.D./I.D. Grinder

Position Type: Direct Hire – Long Term

Location: Troy, MI

Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing

Environment: Precision Manufacturing Facility

Pay: Target pay is $20/hour (Will go higher for exceptional experience)

Shift:

2nd Shift: 4:00 PM – 3:30 AM (Monday–Thursday) and 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM (Friday).

Position Summary:

We are currently hiring O.D. I.D. Grinders for day shift in Troy, MI. Starting pay is up to $20/hr. (Potentially higher for exceptional relevant experience)

Responsibilities (include but not limited to)

Set-up O.D. and I.D. grinding machine, changing wheels, and offsets and setting work offsets

Operate grinding equipment to produce parts according to customer orders

Inspect parts to ensure they are made within print specifications

Prioritize work orders for timely completion to accommodate customer needs

Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations

Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements, troubleshoot malfunctions

Qualifications and Skills:

Willing to train individual who has the following knowledge:

Knowledge in ID, OD, steps, and shoulders

Strong mechanical ability

Familiar with close tolerance inspection equipment

Able to hold tight tolerances, as close as .0001”

Ability to set-up grinder

Choose proper speed and feeds and wheels

Able to read and interpret blueprints

Proficient understanding of blueprints including GD&T

Proficient with inspection equipment to check parts

Good communication skills

Must be a team player with great attitude

Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills

Strong attention to detail
