We have an opening for a Day Shift Pkg Raw Material Ingredients Coordinator.

Summary

Oversees inventory of ingredients; loads/unloads trucks.

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Manages and maintains an accurate and adequate inventory of High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, and Vinegar to support both day and night shift operations at the main plant and at the DC. The RMIC is responsible for releasing orders from established contracts, testing, unloading product and record keeping associated with these raw materials.

Monitors inventories of Sucrose (tanks), Alum, Calcium Chloride, and sodium benzoate and will advise the Materials buyer when to order and schedule delivery of these items.

The RMC will also unload these items upon arrival.

At the end of the month, the RMIC takes an inventory of all of the aforementioned raw materials and turns into the Warehouse Supervisor for accounting purposes associated with month-end close.

Maintains an accurate and sufficient inventory of spices to support plant production. Unloads ingredients at any facilities and outside warehouse.

Unloads raw materials and maintain unloading and storage areas of raw materials in a neat and orderly fashion.

Assures the company has on-hand the necessary raw materials to operate daily without shortages. RMIC will issue purchase orders for High Fructose Corn syrup, Corn Syrup, in truck and by rail and for Vinegar.

Weigh trucks hauling raw materials in and out, confirm that all openings have security seals, verify that weights match bill of lading. Pull samples of HFCS and CS and checks the BRIX, and pulls samples and titrates vinegar. Sample procedures for railcars should be handled in a similar fashion.

Maintains hard copies of COA’s, kosher tankers, kosher railcars for High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, Vinegar, Sucrose, Calcium Chloride, Sodium Benzoate and Alum. These records are reviewed by the OU Rabbi during inspections.

Maintains a data base for High Fructose Corn Syrup, Corn Syrup, and Vinegar. (This information will be used for lot traceability in the event the company recalls finished goods. The data base also has historical data including purchase order numbers, weights, date of delivery, BRIX or GRAIN analysis. For vinegar the data base includes tank number being used, duration it takes to pump the vinegar into the tanks.)

Maintains file for all Bill of Ladings for truck and railcars during each calendar year.

Maintains a data base for railcars, which includes purchase order number, date the purchase order was placed with the vendor, coordinates delivery and pickup with CSX and monitors duration of railcars on company premises to minimize demurrage.

Cycle counts labels and packaging materials each day as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor.

When design or ingredient changes are made to any materials it is the responsibility of the RMIC to use old materials prior to moving to new inventory or to discard the old materials before moving to new materials.

Cleans work area and warehouse 72 & 89 an all outside warehouse.

Uses a Scan Gun to receive and count packaging materials and Ingredients

Unload, verify and put away ingredients.

Count ingredients one day per week for ordering purposes and turn that count into our Buyer.

Check ingredients every day to make sure that they are being FIFO rotation, boxes are being taped and put back in the correct location.

Cleans ingredients area and does daily ingredient area check sheet.

Pulls ingredients per shift for production and place in staging area

Inspects return ingredients to make sure they are properly returned and placed in the correct areas. If they are not properly returned, RMIC must notify production group member and warehouse supervisor.

Must help fill in any position when warehouse group has call outs.

Must work with the warehouse Crew leader to insure cycle counts are done daily and help fill in when warehouse supervisor is out.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Good in math and have the ability to keep accurate records. Some operation of personal computer required. Certified forklift operator. Valid NC Drivers License with good driving record.

Forklift, Stretch Wrap Machine, Calculator, and air hose.

Physical Demands

Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized. This factor is important if the amount and kind of climbing required exceeds that required for ordinary motion.

Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make fine discriminations in sound.

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles.

The worker is required to have eye/hand/foot coordination to operate forklift.

Mental Effort

Above average concentration/intensity. Above average memory. Above average physical and mental reaction time for safety considerations and reaction time.

Work Environment

Works both outside to unload raw materials in all kinds of weather conditions as well as working in office. Long hours and work weeks required. Also works inside warehouse, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations and forklift fumes. Some contact with dust, oil, ink, and grease. Steel-toed shoes required.
