Position Type: Direct Hire – Long Term

Location: Troy, MI

Industry: Aerospace Manufacturing

Environment: Precision Grinding Facility

Pay: Up to $28/hr. (Potentially higher for exceptional relevant experience)

Shift: Monday – Thursday, 4:00 PM – 3:30 AM; Friday as required (4:00 PM – 12:00 AM).

Position Summary:

We are hiring Surface Grinders to perform precision grinding operations in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have experience holding tight tolerances and utilizing various grinding techniques to produce high-precision components.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform surface grinding operations based on provided work instructions and blueprints.

Operate grinding machines to achieve required production rates.

Hold tolerances of .0002” for precision components.

Conduct first-piece and in-process inspections using necessary inspection equipment.

Document manufactured measurements per work instructions.

Maintain a safe work environment by following safety procedures.

Perform regular preventative maintenance on equipment.

Position Requirements:

Proficiency in reading blueprints, including GD&T.

Experience using precision inspection equipment for quality checks.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work within tight tolerances.

Ability to exercise good judgment and decision-making skills.

Team player with strong communication skills and a great attitude.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with centerless grinding (DedTru).

Experience with jig grinding.

Experience with ID grinding (manual/CNC).

Experience with OD grinding (CNC).

Experience with OD/ID grinding with shoulders, holding lengths between centers.
