The Position

We are seeking a Logistics & Load Planning Specialist to be responsible for managing the creation, reservation, and adjustment of customer orders while ensuring the efficient movement of shipments. This role requires close coordination with internal teams and the customer to optimize inventory flow and transportation resources. You will oversee the load planning of raw materials between Ohio manufacturing facilities, ensuring alignment with production schedules. Additionally, this role leads logistics system transaction management in collaboration with the internal BSTT and Business Process Management departments. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WIs), and training programs for logistics team members. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive process improvements within logistics operations.The Location

Load Planning Management: Manage and execute customer load plans by strategically allocating available and approved Finished Goods (FGs) to meet order fulfillment requirements by the designated shipment date. Oversee the scheduling and coordination of raw material transfers between Ohio manufacturing facilities, collaborating closely with the planning department to ensure the timely movement of materials in alignment with production schedules.

Shipment Creation and Reservation: Develop and generate shipments based on customer orders. Reserve all shipments, ensuring that inventory and transportation resources are optimally utilized.

Logistics System Transaction Management Subject Matter Expert (SME): Oversee the development, execution, and optimization of logistics system transactions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with operational requirements. Serve as the SME for logistics-related issues and system errors within IFS, providing expertise and resolution support in collaboration with BSTT and Business Process Management.

SOP and Work Instruction Development: Serve as the logistics lead for developing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs), ensuring documentation is current and processes continuously improve.

Inventory Management Support: Lead inventory management initiatives, including cycle counts and stock reconciliation, to ensure accuracy, control, and alignment with operational goals. Develop, monitor, and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) at both user and organizational levels to drive data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.

Order Adjustments: Work closely with the customer to make necessary adjustments to orders, resolving discrepancies and ensuring seamless order fulfillment.

Transportation Coordination: Communicate with the Material Handler Admin (MH Admin) and Transportation Specialist (TSP) to confirm shipments are ready for release and provide necessary documentation for smooth transportation operations.

Team Training and Support: Provide training and guidance to logistics team members, ensuring they are proficient in system transactions, procedures, and best practices.

Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with internal teams and customers to provide shipment status updates and address any inquiries or concerns.

Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements within logistics and load planning functions.

Other Duties: Perform other tasks as assigned by the Sr. Logistics Manager.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

4-6 years of logistics experience.Preferred Qualifications

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn new software systems. Experience with IFS, SAP, Manhattan, OpenDock and other TMS software.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while also being capable of working independently with minimal supervision.

Eagerness to learn and grow within the logistics field, with a strong work ethic and proactive attitude.Benefits
