Job Summary/Objective:
The Integration Technician will be responsible for the successful installation, configuration, and integration of wireless telecom systems, including base station equipment, antennas, and associated components for various telecom projects.
This position requires a hands-on technician with experience in wireless technology, network troubleshooting, and the ability to work efficiently on-site to ensure that all equipment is properly integrated and functioning within the network.
Primary Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and integrate wireless telecom equipment (e.g., antennas, base stations, routers, controllers, etc.) into telecom network infrastructure.
Perform software upgrades and configurations on wireless telecom equipment to ensure optimal functionality and compatibility with network components.
Conduct site surveys to assess locations for equipment installation and integration.
Ensure proper installation of hardware components (antennas, cables, power supplies, etc.) according to industry standards and project requirements.
Test and validate wireless systems after integration, including performing signal testing, network performance verification, and ensuring signal coverage is in line with specifications.
Troubleshoot network issues, identify root causes, and resolve problems related to integration and equipment functionality.
Document all work performed during integration, including system configurations, issues encountered, and resolution processes.
Provide detailed reports to management and clients regarding integration status, testing results, and any issues that may affect project timelines.
Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other technicians to ensure seamless coordination and successful project delivery.
Communicate effectively with team members and customers to ensure all technical specifications and deadlines are met.
Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations during installations, site visits, and troubleshooting activities to ensure a safe work environment.
Provide ongoing support for equipment post-integration, including troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repair.
Assist with preventative maintenance to ensure continuous operation and system health.
Minimum Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, or related field preferred.
2+ years of experience in telecom, wireless, or related technical field, with a strong focus on system integration, installation, and testing.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to various job sites.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar networking certifications are a plus.
Experience with RF (Radio Frequency) systems, telecom base station equipment, and network hardware is highly preferred.
Competencies Required:
Proficiency in working with wireless telecom technologies, including LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi, and associated components.
Familiarity with network protocols, IP networks, routers, switches, and signal testing equipment.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to work independently and under pressure.
Basic understanding of networking and integration tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal testers, etc.).
Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Self-motivated and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment/Physical Demands/Travel Required:
Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
Comfortable working at heights, climbing ladders, and working in various outdoor environments (e.g., rooftops, towers, etc.).
