Controller The Controller leads our accounting and financial operations.
This role is responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, tax compliance, and internal controls for the company.
The ideal person will have a strong background in accounting, NetSuite G/L, and the monthly close process.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversee the preparation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with US GAAP.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes within NetSuite ERP/GL.
Document, maintain, and improve internal controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets.
Lead financial reporting activities.
Lead cash management and daily banking activities.
Ensure compliance with Telecom tax regulations, external audits, and financial reporting requirements.
Supervise and mentor the accounting team, providing leadership and training, including the A/P and A/R functions.
Partner with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and decision-making.
Liaise with external auditors, tax professionals, and financial institutions.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA required). 5+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2+ years as a Controller.
(Telecommunications experience is a PLUS.) Proven expertise in NetSuite ERP, including monthly closing, importing/exporting of data and reporting.
(Rev.io experience is a PLUS.) Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
Experience managing audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance.
Strong proficiency in Excel and financial modeling.
Ability to “get your hands dirty” and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience in Telecommunications or SaaS.
Ability to close the books in NetSuite.
Advanced Knowledge of Excel.
Communication Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
Ability to respond effectively to accounting questions.
Computer Skills: Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Excel.
Ability to learn quickly and efficiently existing ERP system as well as other accounting/financial software programs.
Other Skills and Abilities: Successfully demonstrated ability to be responsible for the assists of the company as well as confidential information including employee, banking, financial, and lease agreement information.
Ability to lead and direct the work of others, build commitment, and develop strategies to reach organizational goals and overcome resistance.
