In conjunction with the department manager or Exhibit Developer, this individual supports a collaborative exhibit development process from inception through implementation.
The primary role is to research and secure graphic resources for exhibit implementation.
Serves as an advocate for the visitor experience and inclusive interpretation in exhibits.
The employee should be professional, self-directed as well as supportive to team projects, OHC mission, core values and have the able to meet deadlines and complete work within a given budget.rn rnEssential Functions:rnrnSupports facets of the exhibit development process for exhibits working with collections staff, curators, designers, preparators, education and program staff, audience research staff, and marketing and development staff.rnAs required by project need, assist in hiring or art directing contract photographers, illustrators or graphic designers.rnWork directly with vendors to oversee production and installation of exhibit casework, environments, and graphic components.rnCreates and maintains accurate logs and records of correspondences for the loan and usage of images (exhibit and media image logs).rnAbility to communicate complex concepts and data in unique and compressive methods to meet intended audience educational level.rnWorks with site partners, volunteer and community groups, manages the activities of internal staff and staff at other institutions to ensure projects are successful.rnManages and supports elements of project budgeting and appropriate record archiving for project.rnHas an understanding of proper handling of archival and collections itemsrnCarries out record keeping processes invoices and assist with tracking expenses.rnrn rnRequired Education & Experience:rnHigh School Diploma PLUS one to three years working experience OR post-secondary degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field PLUS 3-5 years' work in exhibit or interpretive experience development work.rn rnDesired Skills & Experience:rnrnComfortable communicating with staff and the public.
rnProficiency in various office software suites and virtual platforms, Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365.
rnAbility to work independently and within a team structurernFlexible with workflow and ability to handle and track multiple projectsrnBe self-directedrnExperience and skill in scanning software and Adobe Creative Suite.
rnUnderstanding of AutoCad or 3-D softwarernFollow record keeping and modern office practice procedures.
