Interim Assistant Controller Opportunity

Venteon Finance is currently seeking an Interim Assistant Controller for a leading automotive manufacturing company located in the metro Detroit area.

This position reports to the Corporate Leadership Team and will be the stand-alone Accounting Leader, supervising a Team of 2 Accounting Analysts. The Corporate Assistant Controller is responsible for the financial function at the US corporate office,

Requirements of the Interim Assistant Controller

Bachelor s degree in Accounting or Finance

CMA or CPA designation preferred.

A minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in a finance, manufacturing or corporate environment with complete responsibility for the finance function; automotive experience is preferred

Manage a team of two financial analysts with proven leadership and problem-solving skills

Experience in working in an AS400 environment (Epicor (CMS) experience is preferred)

Advanced knowledge of Excel

Requirements of the Interim Assistant Controller

Communicate weekly, monthly, quarterly financial results to the general manager and corporate including explanations of variances of actual compared to weekly forecast and budget.

Effectively manage and take complete ownership and control of the finance department with respect to month-end reporting as well as day-to-day activities.

Manage the system whereby an accurate forecast can be prepared and submitted to Corporate for multiple cost centers by working with the departmental leaders.

On a monthly basis, explain the differences between the actual results and the most recent forecast, and the previous months actual results for all cost centers.

Review and approve standard and non-standard journal entries each month.

Prepare the annual budget for the Corporate US for all cost centers by leading the entire budget process for the Corporate office, requesting various departmental head involvement in developing manpower and expense budgets so they are held accountable for any variances from budget each month.
