Job Location
San Diego, CA. On-site, with possible occasional/part-time telecommuting. Minimal domestic travel required, 15% of time and the opportunity for international travel, 5% of the time.
Job Description
GALT Aerospace is looking for a Systems Engineer Integration and Test (SEIT) to join our team. In this position, you will play a crucial role supporting the integration and test of networked communication systems. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include the following:
Develop and maintain technical documentation which includes test plans and procedures
Develop configurations to support tests and prototypes of developing systems
Develop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documentation
Conduct systems and sub-systems testing
Review and provide feedback on system specifications, development, test, and network documents
Install and configure Windows/Linux servers
Set up and maintain DNS/Exchange/Active Directory
Maintain virtual environments
Deploy, monitor, and maintain network gear to include switches, servers, firewalls, etc. and troubleshoot network related problems
Capture and deploy system images
Required Skills, Experience, and Education
4+ years of experience with testing, networking, or other IT related fields
Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) computer and radio systems
Working knowledge of routing, switching, protocols, VLANs, IP subnetting, LAN, WAN, etc
Must possess high proficiency in Linux and Windows
Must have a high-level understanding of automation and implementation.
US Citizenship required with a minimum of an active Interim Secret clearance. Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret clearance
Preferred Skills, Experience and Education
Working knowledge on network security devices (e.g. firewall, NGFW, IPS, IDS)
Working knowledge on event management systems (e.g. ISE, Splunk, SolarWinds)
Tactical Data Link familiarity (e.g. CDL, TTNT, L-16, SADL, etc.)
Live field testing, experience with military communication systems highly desired
Automation, scripting, or other development experience in either Python or JavaScript
Knowledge of Containerized Virtual Environments is highly desired
Experience developing scripts in ansible is desired
Demonstrate knowledge in using various testing methodologies Agile and Scrum and logging results using solutions such as JIRA and or Confluence
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
Physical Requirements
Must be able to carry 50 pounds
Must be able to sit or stand for 8 hours at a time
Climb/descend, work atop, and traverse certain machinery
At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $109,000-$145,000, and a specific candidate's base pay will depend on their skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
