Position SummaryWe are seeking a Maintenance Planner like you to join our team in the Firestone Polymers Plant in Lake Charles, LA.

The Maintenance Planner position focuses on planning, designing and implementing maintenance programs to optimize the availability and productivity of manufacturing facilities and equipment. As an experienced professional you will apply practical knowledge of the job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. In this position you must be able to work independently with general supervision and may influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies and practices. Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.

Responsibilities

Works on repair and maintenance engineering problems of moderate scope and assists with projects or processes while receiving general instructions from higher level professionals

Participates in planning and coordination of maintenance engineering work, including review of mechanical engineering specifications; electrical experience is a bonus

Performs engineering review of proposed new equipment designs to assess reliability, ease of maintenance, and availability of replacement parts

Liaises with production staff to coordinate repair work, statutory safety inspections and supply of new plant and equipment with production schedules

Participates in the installation and commissioning of new equipment

Supports continuous improvement/automation activities

Minimum Qualifications

Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with API or ASME codes and standards
